Instructions

  1. Prep Vegetables and Potatoes

Sweet heat bourbon burgers will hit the spot! First, prep your vegetables. Chop the garlic and red onion. Slice the rest of the red onion into 3-4 burger topper slices and slice the Jalapeño into 12-15 slices. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat the oven to 400°F . Slice the potatoes into fourths and place them in a bowl. Coat with a couple tablespoons of olive oil. Sprinkle Country Bob's Seasoning Salt to your liking. Toss the potatoes to coat, then spread them into a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes.

  3. Make the Bourbon Glaze

While the potatoes are baking, melt 1 tbsp of butter in a small saucepan. Turn the heat to medium-low, sprinkle a pinch of Country Bob's Seasoning Salt, and cook the chopped garlic and onions in the butter until soft and fragrant (about 8 minutes). De-glaze the pan with bourbon and stir. Add Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce, Country Bob's Barbecue Sauce, and honey, stirring until the mixture reduces to a syrupy glaze. Let it cook on low heat.

  4. Prepare the Burger Patties and Grill

While the sauce is cooking, butter the buns with the remaining 1 tbsp of butter. Grill the onion slices, jalapeño slices, and buns on a grill pan or skillet until browned. Set aside. Form the beef into patties and sprinkle with Country Bob's Seasoning Salt. Heat a skillet to medium and cook the patties for 3 minutes per side, depending on thickness. Also, cook the bacon until it is almost done but not crispy.

  5. Finish Potatoes and Broil Burger

At this point, your potatoes should be ready. Remove the potatoes from the oven and turn the oven to broil. Place the burger and bacon on a baking sheet and coat each with a generous amount of bourbon sauce. Place under the broiler for about 2 minutes until bubbly. This will finish off the bacon.

  6. Assemble the Burger

Remove from the oven and place the bacon on the bottom bun, leaving the burger on the sheet. Top the burger with the grilled onion, jalapeño, and smoked gouda. Place it back under the broiler until the cheese melts.

  7. Final Assembly

Remove from the broiler and place the burger on the bun on top of the bacon. In a bowl, mix the coleslaw with ranch and Country Bob's Barbecue Sauce. Top the burger with the slaw and use any extra bourbon sauce to coat the top bun. Serve immediately with the roasted potatoes and enjoy your sweet heat bourbon burgers!
