Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

It’s slow cooker season and here is another great recipe. I think this one falls into the ‘comfort food’ category. Cabbage is awesome. So get out your crockpot and let’s get cooking!

The finished product of slow-cooked cabbage rolls

11 lean ground beef or turkey
 1 tbsp oil
 1 large onion, chopped
 1 garlic clove
 1 small cabbage, chopped
2 cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 bottle (13 oz) Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce
 0.50 cup water
 1 tsp ground black pepper
 1 tsp sea salt

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion and cook, stirring, until ground beef is no longer pink and onion is tender. Add the garlic and continue cooking for 2 to 3 more minutes.

In slow cooker, add the chopped cabbage, tomatoes, tomato sauce, All Purpose Sauce, water, pepper and salt. Turn crockpot on high. Let come to a boil. Allow to simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cabbage is tender.
