Ingredients
Instructions
-
Prepare the Shrimp
Season shrimp with 1 Tbsp Country Bob’s Seasoning Salt and olive oil. Stir to coat then set shrimp in the fridge to marinate.
-
Cook the Macaroni
In a large pot, boil the macaroni noodles according to the instructions on the box. Drain and set aside. Mix in a little olive oil to prevent the noodles from sticking together.
-
Make the Cheese Sauce
In a separate pot, melt the butter completely. Add flour and stir to create a roux. Add 2 tablespoons of Country Bob’s Cajun Seasoning Salt and continue stirring until the roux darkens slightly. Pour in the half and half and stir, bringing it to a simmer. Add the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, stirring until fully melted. Once the sauce is smooth, add the cooked noodles and stir to combine. Pour the mac and cheese mixture into a casserole dish or pan and set aside.
-
Cook the Shrimp & Bake
Preheat the oven to 450°F. Heat a pan to medium heat and sear the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until slightly charred. Remove the shrimp from the pan and arrange them on top of the mac and cheese. Place the dish in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the cheese begins to brown on top. Remove from the oven, let cool, and serve!
User Reviews
Less cheese or more half and half. The cheese sauce was way too thick and I basically had to fold in the pasta into the cheese”sauce”, more like dough. The seasoning could’ve been more but the shrimp turned out great. I added bread crumbs on top when I baked it and then broiled it for two minutes.
Next time I will use half the cheese so it is more liquidy, and the rue doesn’t turn into dough
